Mid Auchencloich

The site, a large plot of land in an agricultural area with views of Glasgow to the East and Ben More to the North, was acquired by the client with planning permission for a new house. We were approached to design a dwelling that better suited their needs and tastes, with a focus on solar gains and ecological materials. The house will be a simple 1.5 storey dwelling with open plan living and a guest bedroom on the ground floor and two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. The master bedroom will have views of Glasgow and Ben More.

The house is to be constructed with straw bale pre-fab panels by Ecococon, and timber frame floor and roof with blown wood fibre insulation.
