Caladh

After the loss of her home due to fire, our client needed to re-build her home A modest budget and the clients passion for low-impact cabins led us to explore micro-living designs. The site, on the western shore of Loch Goil is afforded fantastic views of the loch to the East and the hills of Cruag Nam Miseag and Creag Sgoilte to the North West.

The house is small (50sqm), with an open plan kitchen/dining room with moveable/multifunction furniture. The double bedroom has the option to be opened up the provide one large living space with views of the loch. The entrance and services spaces have been located at the rear in order to maximise solar gains and views for the main living spaces. It also shelters the entrance from the cold winds blowing off the loch.
