The Holt

The design brief for the Holt was for a simple small extension to adjoin an existing timber cabin on this wooded loch side site. However there were multiple site constraints:

The geometry of the site constraints and design brief, suggested a six-sided 'pavilion' timber structure, raised off the ground, with a centre post and roof beams to posts in the external walls, and external timber cladding. Internally the accommodation provided a large entrance space, and an open plan living/kitchen/dinning area with a woodburning stove, patio doors and views to the loch. However various factors led the clients to decide against building at this time.
